Ecofriendly Bird Feeders
Ecofriendly Bird Feeders
With the holidays over, now is time to decompress with this easy and relaxing craft.
Join us in the First Parish lobby to make free ecofriendly bird feeders. We will provide materials and direction. Scroll down for details.
Date: Thursday, January 16, 2014
Time: Noon-5:30pm
Location: Framingham First Parish, 24 Vernon St
In early January, the days have already begun to lengthen, however temperatures will be low and food will continue to be scarce for wildlife over the next few months. It's easier than you think to help birds, and watching them enjoy your feeder will provide you with winter entertainment.
Join us in the lobby of Framingham First Parish for this easy and fun craft. Bird feeders will be made with bagel slices, margarine, bird seed, and cotton string — this leaves no trash behind.
(Note: although the winter farmer's market has been canceled, this does not affect our craft, so please drop in, and tell your friends we're still on!)
We provide all needed materials. In concern for children's allergies, all ingredients are nut-free.

Hope to attend and bring the craft idea back to the Callahan Center.
Great! Talk to me at the event: if timing works out, I’ll help you with your event.
– Laura
I’m looking forward to this craft lesson.
Question: We have been asked not to feed birds to discourage “critters” from visiting our location. Since this is all natural and, I believe, all of this will be consumed by the birds, especially if feeders are located on upper floors of our two story buildings? The birds are not the problem but those other little “critters” that seem to be able to do not so nice things to pets and property.
Unfortunately, squirrels will find their way to almost any kind of bird food, no matter how high it’s strung. Will your location object to a one-time craft that may attract squirrels?
*********THIS EVENT IS STILL HAPPENING!************
************** We are sad to hear the winter farmer’s market has been canceled, but we are not canceling our event. See you on Thursday!*******
